About

This programme is developed around a planned combination of learning outcomes that will provide learners the competencies required in the administration function of an organisation. It is intended to build on the knowledge and competencies developed during the Level 2 programme. Individuals completing this programme will be exposed to more advanced skills and knowledge in the field of office administration that would be applicable across a wide range of business sectors. After successfully completing this programme, the learner will be able to access the NQF Level 4 National Vocational Certificate in Office Administration programme.

The programme aims to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude required to perform administrative tasks related to coordinating work schedules and planning and writing office documents to facilitate communication flow as part of normal office procedures. To achieve this, the learner will perform advanced word processing and basic desktop publishing tasks as well as produce presentation documents and perform basic spreadsheet application functions.

Admission Requirements

The entry requirement for this qualification is the NQF Level 2 National Vocational Certificate in Business Services – Office Administration.

Mode of Delivery

This programme is delivered through contact sessions that will provide the learner with the interpersonal support for learning to take place.

Furthermore, a workplace component will allow the learner to apply knowledge gained in a workplace environment.

Duration

This programme can be completed over a minimum duration of one year and a maximum of two.

  • Coordinate own work schedule with that of others to achieve team goals as part of office procedures
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels in an office environment
  • Demonstrate advanced word processing skills to perform administrative duties in an office environment
  • Produce a presentation document as part of office procedures
  • Produce a basic document in a desktop publishing application as part of office procedures
  • Operate basic functions of a spreadsheet application as part of office procedures
  • Plan and write office documents to facilitate communication flow as part of office procedures
  • Provide an efficient and secure reception services
